Abstract

Criminal behavior is a complex phenomenon influenced not only by social and economic factors but also deeply rooted in psychological aspects of the individual. In recent decades, psychological approaches have been increasingly integrated to better understand the motivations, thought patterns, and personality dynamics of offenders. This study aims to identify fundamental psychological principles that explain criminal behavior and examine how integrating psychological frameworks can enhance our understanding of deviant actions. The method used is a literature review with a thematic analysis approach, exploring relevant psychological theories such as social learning theory, social control theory, cognitive dissonance, criminal personality theory, and subjective utility in decision-making. The findings reveal that internal factors, including distorted cognitive schemas, low self-control, value misalignment, and learned behaviors from the environment, play a significant role in the formation of criminal behavior. These results suggest that integrating psychological principles not only strengthens the understanding of criminal causation but also opens the door to more individualized and psychologically grounded intervention strategies. This study recommends the broader application of psychological approaches in crime prevention policies and rehabilitation programs to foster a more holistic and effective response to criminal behavior.

Abstract

This psychoeducation aims to improve the understanding, attitudes, and skills of adolescents in building hope and optimism as a foundation in designing life goals. This activity was carried out on 30 students of MAN 4 Bekasi using a quantitative-descriptive approach. The implementation method includes lectures, discussions, and pre-tests and post-tests to measure changes in participants' understanding. The results showed an increase in knowledge scores and positive changes in students' ways of thinking and behavior. Participants began to understand the difference between hopes and desires, and were able to formulate realistic goals and strategies for achieving them. They also showed improvements in emotional regulation, social support, and more adaptive self-reflection. Although the increase in scores was not statistically significant, qualitative changes showed internalization of important values. This activity emphasizes the importance of psychoeducation in shaping adolescent psychological resilience amidst life's challenges. In the future, similar programs are expected to be developed more widely and sustainably.

Abstract

Social intervention is an important strategy in addressing various social problems faced by individuals, groups, and communities, such as social inequality, addiction, and mental disorders. Although it has been widely implemented, many intervention programs fail to achieve optimal results due to a lack of in- depth understanding of the stages and roles of change agents in social interventions. This study aims to identify the main stages in the social intervention process model, as well as to understand the role of change agents in achieving positive social change. The method used in this study is a literature study with a thematic analysis approach, which examines various theories and practices of social intervention based on relevant academic sources. The results of the study indicate that the social intervention process model consists of stages such as problem identification, data collection, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and termination. Change agents play an important role in each stage, with the function of being a catalyst, solution provider, and resource connector. The conclusion of this study confirms that structured and data-based social interventions are very effective in achieving sustainable positive change in society. This study also proposes the need for further development through field research to obtain more in-depth primary data
