Abstract

Marriage in Islamic teachings is a sacred covenant (mitsaqan ghalizha) with the noble aim of establishing a family characterized by tranquility (sakinah), affection (mawaddah), and mercy (rahmah). In modern society, many married couples face various household problems due to a lack of understanding of the principles, rights, and obligations prescribed by Islamic law. This situation highlights the significance of premarital education as an essential preparation that provides knowledge, spiritual reinforcement, and emotional readiness for prospective spouses. This study seeks to elaborate on the concept of premarital education from the perspective of fiqh al-munakahat and to analyze its implementation in contemporary life. The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method, using literature review from both classical and modern fiqh sources. The findings indicate that premarital education in fiqh al-munakahat not only focuses on the legality of the marriage contract but also emphasizes moral development, responsibility, and awareness of each partner’s role within the household. Therefore, the application of premarital education based on the principles of fiqh al-munakahat plays a vital role in shaping harmonious, ethical Muslim families grounded in Islamic values and oriented toward the realization of a sakinah family. ABSTRAK Pernikahan dalam ajaran Islam merupakan sebuah perjanjian agung (mitsaqan ghalizha) yang memiliki tujuan luhur untuk membangun keluarga yang sakinah, mawaddah, dan rahmah. Dalam realitas masyarakat modern, banyak pasangan suami istri mengalami berbagai persoalan rumah tangga karena minimnya pemahaman terhadap prinsip dan kewajiban yang diatur dalam syariat Islam. Kondisi tersebut menegaskan pentingnya pelaksanaan pendidikan pranikah sebagai sarana pembekalan ilmu, pemantapan spiritual, serta kesiapan emosional bagi calon pasangan. Penelitian ini berupaya menguraikan konsep pendidikan pranikah dari perspektif fikih munakahat dan mengkaji penerapannya dalam konteks kehidupan masa kini. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan bersifat kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif analitis melalui telaah literatur terhadap kitab-kitab fikih klasik maupun modern. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan pranikah menurut fikih munakahat tidak sebatas membahas aspek hukum akad nikah, tetapi juga menekankan pembentukan akhlak, tanggung jawab, dan kesadaran terhadap peran masing-masing dalam rumah tangga. Dengan demikian, penerapan pendidikan pranikah berdasarkan nilai-nilai fikih munakahat berperan penting dalam membentuk generasi keluarga muslim yang harmonis, berakhlak, serta berlandaskan prinsip-prinsip Islam menuju terwujudnya keluarga sakinah.
