Abstract

This study examines the transformation of Islamic education through the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in fostering moderate character and global competence among today’s students. The rapid advancement of digital technology demands an adaptive educational model that not only emphasizes cognitive achievement but also strengthens ethical values and religious moderation. This research employs a qualitative approach through literature review and conceptual analysis of current practices in Islamic education and AI-based learning systems. The findings indicate that AI can support personalized learning, enhance critical thinking, and facilitate access to diverse religious perspectives, which are essential in cultivating inclusive and tolerant attitudes. Furthermore, the integration of AI in Islamic education encourages the development of global competencies, including digital literacy, cross-cultural understanding, and problem-solving skills. However, this transformation also requires careful consideration of ethical principles, teacher readiness, and curriculum design to ensure alignment with Islamic values. The study concludes that AI-based Islamic education has significant potential to create a balanced learning environment that integrates technological advancement with spiritual and moral development, ultimately preparing students to navigate global challenges while maintaining a moderate and inclusive religious outlook.

Abstract

This study aims to reconstruct Islamic education through an interdisciplinary approach integrated with digital innovation to create a superior, moderate, and globally competitive generation. The background of this research lies in the gap between traditional Islamic education, which tends to be normative and text-centered, and the contemporary demands of a rapidly evolving digital and globalized world. By employing a qualitative library research method, this study analyzes various theoretical frameworks from Islamic studies, education, technology, and social sciences. The findings indicate that an interdisciplinary approach enables Islamic education to be more contextual, adaptive, and responsive to modern challenges, while digital innovation enhances accessibility, creativity, and effectiveness in the learning process. Furthermore, the integration of values of moderation (wasatiyyah) within a digitally supported learning environment fosters critical thinking, tolerance, and global awareness among learners. This reconstruction not only strengthens the epistemological foundation of Islamic education but also equips students with relevant competencies needed in the era of globalization and digital transformation. Therefore, Islamic education must continuously evolve by embracing interdisciplinary collaboration and technological advancement to remain relevant and impactful in shaping future generations.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how digital pedagogy is negotiated in the Master’s Program of Islamic Religious Education through the use of digital platforms, academic adab, and digital integrity. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observation, and documentation involving lecturers, postgraduate students, academic managers, and relevant academic documents. The data were analyzed through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing, while credibility was strengthened through source and technique triangulation. The findings show that digital platforms support flexibility, accessibility, academic communication, assignment management, and collaborative learning in postgraduate Islamic education. However, platform use also requires strong pedagogical guidance to prevent passive participation, fragmented interaction, and merely administrative learning practices. The study further reveals that academic adab remains essential in maintaining respectful communication, disciplined participation, ethical dialogue, proper citation, and responsibility in digital academic spaces. In addition, digital integrity becomes increasingly urgent due to the growing use of online resources and artificial intelligence tools, which require students to maintain originality, verify sources, and distinguish academic assistance from authorship. This study implies that Islamic higher education institutions need clear guidelines for digital learning, academic ethics, and responsible AI-assisted academic work.
