Abstract

Technology has become an integral part of society, substantially contributing to its many facets. With the advent of technology, media entrepreneurship in Malaysia has expanded significantly. The younger generation, specifically Generation Z, relies heavily on social media for communication, information inquiry, and online purchasing and selling. This change has had a significant impact on the Malaysian field of technopreneurship. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the factors that influence Generation Z's use of social media for business and their propensity to engage in technopreneurship. This is a quantitative study that uses a questionnaire to collect demographic information, factors influencing Generation Z to use social media for business, and their motivations or aspirations to partake in technopreneurship activities. 280 respondents from Generation Z technopreneurs were selected through random sampling. The software Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) was used to perform a descriptive analysis of the obtained data. According to the study's findings, each factor has a significant relationship with the motivation to engage in technopreneurship

Abstract

Abstract Achieving gender equality in education remains a pressing global challenge and a core component of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in regions where religious values deeply influence social structures. This study explores an integrative approach that combines Islamic principles with educational technology to address gender disparities in education, with a focus on Madrasah Riyadlatusy Syubban, part of Pondok Pesantren Tahfidzul Qur’an Al-Hasan in Ponorogo, East Java. Utilizing a qualitative case study design, the research investigates how Islamic values that uphold gender justice can be harmonized with technological innovations to expand access to education and enhance learning outcomes. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and institutional document analysis. The findings reveal that aligning Islamic teachings on gender justice with the use of digital platforms and online applications significantly improves educational access for female students, while also fostering their intellectual and technical growth. This synergy not only narrows the gender gap in religious education but also supports broader efforts toward women's empowerment in a culturally resonant manner. The study contributes to both theoretical and practical discourses by proposing a sustainable and inclusive educational model that integrates faith-based values with digital innovation. It offers a contextual framework for promoting gender equality in Islamic educational settings, and highlights the potential of religious institutions to play a transformative role in achieving the SDGs, especially in advancing quality education and empowering women.  Keywords: Gender Equality; Inclusive Education; Educational Technology; Islamic Values; SDGs; Madrasah; Women's Empowerment; Value Integration.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) to the contextual and integrative development of Islamic law in Indonesia, with a particular focus on two major institutions: Pondok Pesantren Tebuireng in Jombang and Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor in Ponorogo. These pesantren were selected due to their unique characteristics and historical significance in shaping Islamic legal thought in Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach and case study method, the research finds that Tebuireng contributes significantly through its emphasis on progressive and contextual Islamic intellectual traditions, while Gontor excels in producing adaptable Muslim leaders capable of responding to social and legal changes. The findings reveal that the integration of Tebuireng’s intellectual approach and Gontor’s modern, character-based educational system offers a strong model for reconstructing Islamic law in ways that are responsive to contemporary Indonesian society. In conclusion, pesantren have substantial potential to serve as centers for Islamic legal development that are not only normative but also practical, contributing significantly to harmonizing sharia values with the national legal system.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate an integrative innovation model to bridge the weak integration of local wisdom curriculum in Islamic boarding school education. This study used a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach. This research was conducted in five Islamic boarding schools: Walisongo Islamic boarding school in Lampung, Al-Kayyis Islamic boarding school in Banten, Al-Mahalli Islamic boarding school in Yogyakarta, Al-Hasan Islamic boarding school in Ponorogo, and Darul Hikam Bendo Islamic boarding school in Kediri. The forms of local wisdom in Islamic boarding schools include gotong royong, piil pesegiri, agrarian culture, social ethics, and digital creativity. Data analysis employed the Folk Development Analysis (FDA), which involved identifying elements of local wisdom, internalization processes, and interpretations. The results of the study show that those five Islamic boarding schools have succeeded in integrating local wisdom values through three main pillars: (1) strengthening local values through the Islamic boarding school curriculum, (2) a socially based contextual approach in the culture of students, and (3) methodological innovations that are in accordance with developments in the digital era. The form of implication of the integration of these values is the formation of a strong, relevant, and adaptive character of students in preserving local wisdom.
