Abstract

Fire safety is a crucial aspect in the educational environment. Teachers and Islamic boarding school administrators are a vulnerable group to fire risks because many of them lack knowledge about the steps to take when a fire breaks out. This study evaluates the effectiveness of an educational program that teaches teachers and administrators of the Darul Falah Indramayu Islamic Boarding School how to use various fire extinguishing methods, such as fire extinguishers (APAR), fire blankets, and manual isolation methods. This experimental research implements a one-group pretest-posttest design. The data analysis applied to assess the effectiveness of the treatment is the gain normality test (N-Gain). The results showed an increase in respondents' knowledge before and after the material presentation. The average pretest score of 36.31 increased to 85.26 in the posttest. An average N-Gain score of 0.77 was obtained, which falls into the high category. In addition, the N-Gain effectiveness assessment reached 77.21%, which is included in the effective category. It can be concluded that education and training on early fire extinguishing techniques successfully and significantly increased the knowledge of teachers and boarding school administrators. ABSTRAK Keselamatan kebakaran merupakan aspek krusial di lingkungan pendidikan. Para guru dan pengurus pesantren merupakan kelompok yang rentan terhadap risiko kebakaran karena banyak di antara mereka yang tidak memiliki pengetahuan tentang langkah-langkah yang harus diambil ketika api berkobar. Penelitian ini mengevaluasi efektivitas program edukasi yang mengajarkan guru dan pengurus pesantren Darul Falah Indramayu cara menggunakan berbagai macam metode pemadaman api, seperti APAR, fire blanket, dan metode isolasi manual. Penelitian eksperimental ini menerapkan desain one-group pretest-posttest. Analisis data yang diterapkan untuk menilai keefektifan perlakuan adalah uji normalitas gain (N-Gain). Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan adanya kenaikan pengetahuan responden sebelum dan sesudah pemaparan materi. Nilai rata-rata pretest sebesar 36,31 meningkat menjadi 85,26 pada posttest. Didapatkan skor rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,77 yang masuk dalam kategori tinggi. Selain itu, penilaian efektivitas N-Gain dalam bentuk persentase mencapai 77,21% yang termasuk dalam kategori efektif. Disimpulkan bahwa edukasi dan pelatihan teknik pemadaman api dini berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan guru dan pengurus pesantren secara signifikan.
