Abstract

SINGGIH PRIHADI: The Development of Instructional Multimedia of RemoteSensing to Increase Spatial Intellegence for the Student of Senior High School.This research was aimed at developing good and effective multimedia forremote sensing in Senior High Schools of Surakarta.The research was conducted in Senior High Schools in Surakarta by usinga research and development study. Subjects of the research were students in classXII of the senior high school The research was conducted in four steps, covering:(1) need analysis, (2) development of instructional design, (3) development ofproduct design, (4) product evaluation and implementation of the product. Theproduct was validated by one expert in multimedia and one expert in materials.Fourty-five students were involved in the product tryout in which 3 students wereinvelued in the one-to-one evaluation, 12 students in small-group evaluation and30 sudents in field-trial evaluation. Data of the research were gained from expertevaluation validation sheet of the instructional media and materials, and thestudents feedback of the media, particularly in the learning aspect of itsoperational intelligibility, intelligibility of content to learn, and interesting layoutand program. The data were analyzed by using descriptive qualitative technique.Results of the research reveal that: (a) the quality of multimedia was goodregarding the aspect of content and efficacy, (b) the quality of instruction wasvery good regarding the aspect of layout, operation, navigation and efficacy, (c)the quality of multimedia was very good regarding the aspects of the inteligibilityof product operation, product instuction content and layout. It also implies thatthe multimedia of remote sensing for the students of Senior Schools of Surakartais eligible to be used as learning resources.
