This quasi experimental research aimed to know the differences of students understanding of mathematical concepts in cooperative learning model of think talk write (TTW) and numbered heads together (NHT) type with posttest only design. The population of this research was all students of grade 7th of MTs Mathlaul Anwar Gisting, even semester in academic year of 2014/2015. The samples of this research were students of VII.D and VII.E which were taken by purposive random sampling. Based on the result of research, it was gotten the conclusion that the students understanding of mathematical concepts in cooperative learning model of TTW type was higher than students understanding of mathematical concepts in the cooperative learning model of NHT type.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dalam model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe think talk write (TTW) dan numbered heads together (NHT) dengan posttest only design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII MTs Mathlaul Anwar Gisting semester genap tahun pelajaran 2014/2015. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII.D dan kelas VII.E yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive random sampling. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dalam model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TTW lebih tinggi daripada pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT.Kata kunci: NHT, pemahaman konsep matematis, TTW
