<![CDATA[This research aimed to know the impact of implementation of problem based learning model in increasing student’s mathematical representations skill. This research population was all students of grade 8th of SMPN 1 Sekampung Udik in academic year of 2013/2014 that was distributed into five classes. This research samples were students of VIII A and VIII D class who were taken by purposive random sampling technique. This research design was pretest-posttest control design. The research data were student’s mathematical representations skill. The conclusion of this research was the problem based learning model could increase the student’s mathematical representations skill.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dampak penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dalam meningkatkan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Sekampung Udik tahun pelajaran 2013/2014 yang terdistribusi dalam lima kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII A dan VIII D yang diambil dengan teknik purposive random sampling. Desain penelitian ini adalah pretest-posttest control design. Data penelitian adalah kemampuan representasi matematis siswa. Kesimpulan penelitian ini yaitu penerapan model PBL dapat meningkatkan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa.Kata kunci: konvensional, model PBL, representasi matematis]]>
