Abstract

 AbstractPersonality is a reflection of the behavior of each individual. Hippocrates-Galenus divides personality types based on bodily fluids namely sanguinis, corelary, melancholic and phlegmatic. The personality possessed by students influences his learning style which is a modality for him to obtain and absorb information. Deporter and Hernacki divide learning styles into three types, namely visual, auditory and kinesthetic. According to Kolb, personality types are one of the factors that influence learning styles of students. The general problem in this study is "What is the relationship between the personality type and the learning style of class VIII SMPN 16 Pontianak?" This study aims to find out "Relationship of personality types with learning styles of eighth grade students of class SMPN 16 Pontianak." Descriptive methods and forms of research are forms of relationship research studies. The population in this study were 301 and a sample of 74 students of class VIII SMPN 16 Pontianak. Based on the contingency analysis, the results showed that students who had the sanguinis personality type of learning styles spread in visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning styles. While students who have a corelary personality type, melancholy and phlegmatic learning style are dominant in one learning style that is visual learning style. Keywords: Personality Type, Learning Styles
