PENERAPAN MODEL INKUIRI TERBIMBING DALAM MENINGKATKAN MODEL MENTAL DAN PENGUASAAN KONSEP SISWA

Abstract

The research was aimed to describe the effectiveness and effect size of guided inquiry model to the improvement of students mental models and concept mastery. This research used pre-experimental method with one group pretest-posttest design and by using cluster random sampling, it was obtained the 10th grade-10 in SMAN 1 Natar as sample class. The results shown that the effectiveness of guided inquiry learning model had a "high" criteria and the effect size of it had a "great" criteria in improving students mental models and concept masterys. Mental models of students changed after the implementation of guided inquiry with a "good" and "excellent" categories and students concept mstery also increased with a "medium" category.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keefektivan dan ukuran pengaruh model inkuiri terbimbing terhadap peningkatan model mental dan penguasaan konsep siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pre-eksperimen dengan desain One Group Pretest-Posttest dan pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cluster random sampling, sehingga didapatkan kelas X10 sebagai sampel di SMAN 1 Natar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing memiliki keefektivan yang tinggi dan pengaruh yang besar dalam meningkatkan model mental dan penguasaan konsep siswa. Model mental siswa mengalami perubahan setelah penerapan inkuiri terbimbing dengan kriteria baik dan baik sekali dan penguasaan konsep siswa juga mengalami peningkatan dengan kriteria sedang.Kata kunci: inkuiri terbimbing, model mental, penguasaan konsep, ukuran pengaruh
