This research aimed to describe the effectiveness of problem solving learning model to increase student’s flexibility thinking skills in electrolyte-nonelectrolyte subject matter. The population of this research was students of class X SMA Al-Azhar 3 Bandar lampung on academic year 2013/2014. Sample was taken by purposive sampling technique. The sample in this research were class X2 and X3. The method of the research was quasi experimental with non equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The effectiveness of problem solving learning model was showed by the significant difference of n-Gain between control class and experiment class. The results showed that the average n-Gain of flexibility thinking skills of control class and experiment class were 0,30 and 0,51 respectively. The result of hypothesis testing showed that problem solving learning model was effective to improve student’s flexibility thinking skills in electrolyte-nonelectrolyte subject matter.
