PEMBELAJARAN PROBLEM SOLVING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN INFERENSI DAN MENGKOMUNIKASIKAN MATERI LARUTAN PENYANGGA

Abstract

The research which use pre-experiment method had been done in SMAN 1 Seputih Raman with the purpose to describe practicality, effectiveness, and effect size of problem solving learning model in order to improve the inference and communicate skills on buffer solution topic. This research used one group pretest-posttest design and used the 11th grade-5 as sample class which it was obtained by using cluster random sampling. The practicality was determined by the implementation of the lesson plan and students' responses of learning. The effectiveness was determined by the students activity, the teachers ability, and n-Gain mean value of inference and communicate skills. The results showed that the practicality and the effectiveness of problem solving learning model were categorized on very high. The effect size has the large category to improved inference skill and very large category to communicate skill.Penelitian yang menggunakan metode pre-eksperimen telah dilakukan di SMAN 1 Seputih Raman dengan tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kepraktisan, keefektivan, dan ukuran pengaruh model pembelajaran problem solving dalam meningkatkan keterampilan inferensi dan mengkomunikasikan pada materi larutan penyangga. Penelitian ini menggunakan one group pretest-posttest design dan menggunakan kelas XI IPA 5 sebagai kelas sampel yang diperoleh dengan menggunakan cluster ramdom sampling. Kepraktisan ditentukan dari keterlaksanaan RPP dan respon siswa terhadap pelaksanaan pembelajaran. Keefektifan ditentukan dari aktivitas siswa, kemampuan guru, dan rerata n-Gain keterampilan inferensi dan mengkomunikasikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepraktisan dan keefektivan model problem solving berkategori sangat tinggi. Ukuran pengaruh memiliki kriteria yang besar untuk meningkatkan keterampilan inferensi dan kategori sangat besar untuk keterampilan mengkomunikasikan.Kata kunci: inferensi, mengkomunikasikan, problem solving
