This research is motivated by the lack of social support of parents in making decisions choosing study programs. This study aims to measure empirically the influence of parents' social support on decision making choosing social science education study programs. The method used in this research is quantitative research methods, and the sampling technique used in this study is simple random sampling. The population in this study were IPS class of 2019 students, amounting to 78, while the sample in this study amounted to 65 respondents. Based on the results of research by testing the simple linear regression hypothesis shows that the value of R square is 0.280 which shows the effect of 28%. The remaining 72% is explained by other variables outside the study. In addition, it was also strengthened by the t-test result of 4,947> t-table 1,999. so it can be concluded that the parent's social support variable influences the decision making variable in choosing a social science education study program.
