Malang city as a smart city has the aim of making it easier for the people of Malang City to obtain information. As a City of Education, many migrants from outside of the city who wish to continue their education in Malang City certainly need information because they do not know Malang City. This situation requires the education sector to use smartphone media in spreading the information to make it easier to reach people both inside and outside the city. The application of interaction design in the educational information module uses the Think Aloud and Human Centered Design methods. Think Aloud is used as a method for analyzing user needs while HCD is used as a flowchart to form a solution design. Analysis of user needs is an initial stage so that it knows the user's desires against solution design that will later made into a prototype. The final stage of this research is the evaluation of the solution design using the Usability Testing method and the SUS questionnaire. The evaluation resulted in 3 usability values, namely 95% for effectiveness aspects, 90.3% for efficiency aspects, and 83 for satisfaction aspects.
