<![CDATA[Learning from texts can be said to be a common learning activity at all levels of education, including elementary school levels. One of the texts studied in elementary school is an explanation text. Explanation text is a text that explains what, why, and how a phenomenon occurs. The ability to understand text is needed in explanation text material because the text has a thinking structure that must be interpreted so that students are able to achieve the ability to understand text that has been determined as a learning goal. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews, and document analysis. The aspects studied were to determine the level of students' understanding of the explanation text including the structure of the content, language features, and the systematic preparation of the explanatory text.]]>
