Abstract: This study aims to improve the ability to write poetry for fifth grade students at SDN 04 Batu Ampar. This study used a class action research method, which was conducted in 2 cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. Data was collected through tests and observations. Tests were used to determine students' ability to write poetry, while observation was used to determine the success of the learning process of writing poetry using the field trip method. The results of this study indicate that the application of the field trip method can improve the ability to write poetry for fifth grade students at SDN 04 Batu Ampar.Keywords: ability to write poetry, field trip method, classroom action research Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis puisi siswa kelas V SDN 04 Batu Ampar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas, yang dilakukan dalam 2 siklus. Tiap siklus terdiri atas perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes dan observasi. Tes digunakan untuk mengetahui kemampuan menulis puisi siswa, sedangkan observasi untuk mengetahui keberhasilan proses pembelajaran menulis puisi dengan metode field trip. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode field trip dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis puisi siswa kelas V SDN 04 Batu Ampar.
