ABSTRAK Tujuan meningkatkan kemampuan keterampilan siswa menggunakan bahasa sebgai alat komunikasi, baik secara lisan maupun tertulis. Maka dari itu penerapan metode Project Based Learning dalam menulis karangan teks eksposisi menyikapi kejenuhan peserta didik ketika proses pembelajaran menulis. Metode yang dipakai yaitu quasi experiment metode. Rancangan pendekatan kuasi eksperimen yang digunakan adalah one group pretest–posttest design. Penggunaan desain ini disesuaikan dengan tujuan yang hendak dicapai, yaitu untuk mengetahui kemampuan membaca siswa pada pembelajaran mengidentifikasi unsur kalimat efektif pada teks eksposisi sebelum dan sesudah diberlakukan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian memakai desain pembelajaran Project Based Learning maka hasil yang didapat nilai pretest sebelum diberikan perlakuan dan nilai posttest setelah diberikan perlakuan di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Kadugede mendapat kenaikan keterampilan menulis teks eksposisi rata-rata hasil posttest bertambah tinggi dibandingkan poin pretest. Poin rata-rata Pretest adalah 55,64 dan nilai rata-rata Posttest 78,74. Penilaian siswa diatas secara keseluruhan sudah benar dari penyusunan tema sampai ke penulisaan teks eksposisi. THE APPLICATION OF THE PROJECT-BASED LEARNING (PjBL) METHOD AFFECTS STUDENT LEARNING MOTIVATION IN LEARNING TO WRITE EXPOSITION TEXTS SMP NEGERI 1 KADUGEDE ABSTRACT The aim is to improve students' skills in using language as a means of communication, both orally and in writing. Therefore, the application of the Project Based Learning method in writing expository text essays addresses students' boredom during the writing learning process. The method used is the quasi experimental method. The quasi-experimental approach used was a one group pretest–posttest design. The use of this design is adapted to the objectives to be achieved, namely to determine students' reading abilities in learning to identify effective sentence elements in expository texts before and after they are implemented. Based on the results of research using Project Based Learning learning design, the results obtained were the pretest scores before being given treatment and the posttest scores after being given treatment in class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Kadugede, the average posttest results increased compared to the pretest points. The average Pretest point is 55.64 and the average Posttest score is 78.74. The student's assessment above was overall correct from the preparation of the theme to the writing of the expository text.
