This research examines how mediation services are implemented using a cognitive approach in the KUA of Lubuklinggau city, where the implementation of mediation services is seen from three perspectives, namely: planning mediation services, implementing mediation services, as well as evaluation and follow-up and a cognitive approach with several principles including Understanding Patterns. Thinking, Emotional Awareness, Cognitive Change, Effective Communication, Problem Resolution and finally Strengthening Relationships. The purpose of this research is to determine the planning, implementation, evaluation and monitoring of extension workers in handling Lubuklinggau City KUA family conflicts. This research is field research with a qualitative descriptive method. The research location is KUA in Lubuklinggau City. The research subjects were service recipient couples, the head of the KUA and experienced or professional Islamic religious counselors or instructors. Purposive sampling technique was used to determine the objectives of this research. Purposive sampling is based on certain criteria. Data collection techniques are observation and interviews. Based on the research results, it shows that the implementation of mediation services with a cognitive approach carried out by extension workers at the KUA in Lubuklinggau City; first receive clients, organize client structuring, discuss client problems and carry out immediate assessments of the results of services and clients who experience problems can gain new insights and know how to do the best things in their home life
