Abstract

ABSTRAKSintesis Karbon Aktif dari Ampas Tebu (Bagasse) dan Aplikasinya Sebagai Penurun Konsentrasi COD Limbah Cair Gula. Skripsi. Program Studi Kimia, Jurusan Kimia, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Univeritas Negeri Makassar. (Dibimbing oleh Diana Eka Pratiwi dan Dr. Hasri)Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik karbon aktif dan persentase penurunan konsentrasi COD limbah cair gula yang telah diadsorpsi menggunakan karbon aktif ampas tebu. Karakterisasi karbon aktif ampas tebu meliputi penentuan rendemen, kadar air, dan kadar abu. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh berupa rendemen arang sebesar 57.7263 %. Konsentrasi optimum karbon aktif pada konsentrasi aktivator 0.2 M, dengan kadar air rata-rarta sebesar 1.6662%, kadar abu rata-rata sebesar 54.2013%. Konsentmrasi COD limbah cair gula mengalami penurunan rata-rata sebesar 54.9044%.   Kata Kunci: Ampas Tebu, Arang aktif, COD dan Limbah cair gula ABSTRACTSynthesis of Activated Carbon from Bagasse and Its Application as a Reducing COD Levels of Sugar Liquid Waste. (supervised by Diana Eka Pratiwi and Dr. Hasri)This study aims to determine activated carbon characteristics and the percentage of reduction in COD levels of sugar liquid waste that bagasse activated the carbon. Characterization of bagasse activated carbon includes determination of yield, moisture content, and ash content. Based on the test results, the form of the charcoal yield of 57.7263%, the optimum concentration of activated carbon shows that at an activator concentration of 0.2 M, with an average water content of 1.6662%, an average ash content of 54.2013%. The COD level of the liquid waste sugar decreased by an average of 54.9044%.Keywords: Bagasse, activated charcoal, COD, and sugar liquid waste
