Abstract

Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mendeskripsikan profil keterampilan argumentasi ilmiah dan keterampilan komunikasi pada pembelajaran IPA di SMP/MTs. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey untuk melakukan pemetaan keterampilan argumentasi ilmiah dan keterampilan komunikasi pada pembelajaran IPA dengan melibatkan 40 individu diantaranya siswa dan mahasiswa. Temuan yang diperoleh pada penelitian ini menunjukan pentingnya keterampilan argumentasi ilmiah dan keterampilan komunikasi yang memberikan dampak positif bagi pengetahuan, pemahaman dan keterampilan dalam menggunakan media terutama media sosial yang saat ini sering dijadikan sumber informasi oleh khalayak terutama oleh kalangan siswa SMP/MTs. Melihat hasil penelitian tersebut, peneliti merekomendasikan perlunya guru IPA agar siswa dapat meningkatkan keterampilan argumentasi ilmiah dan keterampilan komunikasi pada pembelajaran IPA di SMP/MTs.This research is intended to describe the profile of scientific argumentation skills and communication skills in science learning in junior high school. This research used a survey method to map scientific argumentation skills and communication skills in science learning by involving 40 individuals including students and college students. The findings obtained in this study show the importance of scientific argumentation skills and communication skills that have a positive impact on knowledge, understanding and skills in using the media, especially social media, which is currently often used as a source of information by the audience, especially by junior high school students. Seeing the results of the study, the researcher recommends the need for science teachers so that students can improve scientific argumentation skills and communication skills in science learning at junior high schools.
