ABSTRAK Metode konvensional yang susdah lama digunakan oleh pendidik tidak dapat membantu siswa untuk menghadapi tantangan dan kemajuan sesuai perkembangan. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa pada Kelas VII SMPN 2 SANGGALAGI SATAP Pada Materi kegiatan ekonomi masyarakat. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII yang berjumlah 20 orang siswa pada materi kegiatan ekonomi masyarakat semester Ganjil Tahun Ajaran 2023/2024. Penelitian terdiri dari dua siklus, masing-masing siklus terdiri dari empat tahapan, yaitu perencanaan, tindakan/perlakuan, observasi dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode deskriptif. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu data hasil angket minat belajar siswa dan data observasi pelaksanaan dengan penerapan model pembelajaran PBL. Hasil penelitian bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran problem based learning (PBL) pada materi kegiatan ekonomi masyarakat mengalami peningkatan minat belajar dengan perolehan persentase pada siklus I 76,3 % dan pada siklus II 89 %. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang diperoleh, maka dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa model pembelajaran PBL dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa Kelas VII SMPN2 Sanggalagi Satap pada materi kegiatan ekonomi masyaeakat Kata kunci: minat belajar, problem based learning (PBL) ABSTRACT Conventional methods that have been used by educators for a long time cannot help students to face challenges and progress according to development. The aim of the research is to determine whether the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model can increase students' interest in learning in Class VII of SMPN 2 SANGGALAGI SATAP on the subject of community economic activities. This research is classroom action research (PTK). The research subjects were 20 class VII students on the subject of community economic activities in the odd semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. The research consists of two cycles, each cycle consisting of four stages, namely planning, action/treatment, observation and reflection. Data collection techniques use descriptive methods. The data analysis techniques used are data from student interest questionnaire results and implementation observation data using the PBL learning model. The results of the research showed that the application of the problem based learning (PBL) learning model to the material on community economic activities experienced an increase in interest in learning with a percentage gain in cycle I of 76.3% and in cycle II of 89%. Based on the research results obtained, it can be concluded that the PBL learning model can increase the learning interest of Class VII students at SMPN 2 Sanggalagi Satap in the material of community economic activities.
