The purpose of this research is to reveal, 1) describe the procedures for implementing the recitation of the Al-Qur'an at each graduation at SDN 4 Tengguli, 2) describe the teacher's strategy in improving the religious character of students at SDN 4 Tengguli, 3) describe the views and experiences of students Al-Qur'an recitation activities and understanding of students' religious character. This research uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques use interviews, observation and decommentation. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing. The results of this research show that; 1) The process of carrying out the recitation of the Al-Qur'an at every graduation at SDN 4 Tengguli is a custom (custom) carried out by the SDN 4 Tengguli school at every graduation as a sign that students have finished reading the holy verses of the Al-Qur'an. The implementation of reciting the Al-Qur'an includes 3 processes, namely as follows: preparation process, core activities and closing, 2) The teacher's strategy in improving the religious character of students at SDN 4 Tengguli is to choose and determine the method that the teacher will use to improve the religious character of students. habituation methods and story methods which are usually used by teachers which are considered the most effective in improving religious character values, 3) The teacher's perception of reciting the Al-Qur'an in improving character is reciting the Al-Qur'an which is an effective method which can improve Religious character for students in reciting the Al-Qur'an can increase students' understanding of religious teachings, beliefs, foster a sense of love for the Al-Qur'an and can increase discipline in students.
