Abstract

This research aims to explore the application of teacher pedagogical competence at SD Smart Indonesia 2 Pekanbaru. Pedagogical competence is an essential ability that a teacher must have to manage the learning process effectively and be responsive to student needs. Through this competency, teachers are expected to be able to create a conducive learning environment, design innovative learning strategies, and evaluate learning outcomes appropriately. The research methods used were interviews and observations, with a focus on one of the santri guardians to gain an in-depth perspective regarding learning practices in the classroom. The research results show that teachers have implemented various strategies in learning, such as the use of varied media and different approaches according to student characteristics. However, this research also found that there were challenges, especially in mastering the material by students who varied. Some students have difficulty understanding lessons, which requires teachers to provide additional support. It is hoped that this research can provide a clear and comprehensive picture of the importance of pedagogical competence in improving the quality of education, as well as encouraging the development of teacher professionalism in the future. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi penerapan kompetensi pedagogik guru di SD Smart Indonesia 2 Pekanbaru. Kompetensi pedagogik merupakan kemampuan esensial yang harus dimiliki oleh seorang guru untuk mengelola proses pembelajaran secara efektif dan responsif terhadap kebutuhan siswa. Melalui kompetensi ini, guru diharapkan dapat menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif, merancang strategi pembelajaran yang inovatif, serta mengevaluasi hasil belajar secara tepat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah wawancara dan observasi, dengan fokus pada salah satu wali santri untuk mendapatkan perspektif yang mendalam mengenai praktik pembelajaran di kelas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru telah menerapkan berbagai strategi dalam pembelajaran, seperti penggunaan media yang bervariasi dan pendekatan yang berbeda sesuai dengan karakteristik siswa. Namun, penelitian ini juga menemukan adanya tantangan, terutama dalam penguasaan materi oleh siswa yang bervariasi. Beberapa siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami pelajaran, yang mengharuskan guru untuk memberikan dukungan tambahan. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan gambaran yang jelas dan komprehensif tentang pentingnya kompetensi pedagogik dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan, serta mendorong pengembangan profesionalisme guru di masa yang akan datang.
