This research aims to explore the application of Descartes' philosophy of rationalism in Christian religious education, with a focus on developing learners' critical thinking. The method used is qualitative research with a literature study approach, where data is collected and analyzed from various related literatures. The results show that the integration of Descartes' rationalism can improve the ability of self-reflection, link faith with logic, and encourage critical discussion among students. The implication of this study is the importance of creating an educational environment that supports the exploration of critical thinking while still respecting the values of faith. The novelty of this research lies in the approach that combines the method of rationalism with religious education, providing a foundation for Christian learners to think critically in dealing with religious teachings and issues of daily life
