This research reveals the activities of the Prophet's maulid at mosques in West Sumatra, Indonesia. This celebration is a routine activity that is believed to have ethical and aesthetic values, so it has become a religious ritual for the community. This research uses qualitative methods to reveal the meaning of people's behavior in various social situations, to find out the meaning of the Prophet's maulid ceremony at mosques in West Sumatra. The results of the research show that the malelang celebration is an expression of the Islamic religion with various activities, such as: malelang cake, malelang singgang ayam, and is a local cultural identity of the nagari community. There are various forms of activities such as competing in goodness and mutual cooperation in the activities of the Prophet's maulid, including cake auctions and chicken roast auctions to collect donations for the construction of mosques. These activities are related to various events that are considered important for the community. The results of the research show that the malelang tradition is understood by the people of nagari in West Sumatra as a good tradition to maintain its existence, because in its implementation it provides benefits in their lives, expressions of gratitude and competing with each other in goodness, because on this occasion many people gather again get to know, remember and increase love for the Prophet Muhammad SAW.
