Fear of missing out is a concern that someone feels because he is not involved in interesting things that other people might find as valuable experiences. Instagram addiction is a person's inability to control the use of the social media application, namely Instagram, which affects their social activities. The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between fear of missing out and Instagram addiction in generation Z of Psychology students at Faculty of Medicine, Lambung Mangkurat University. The subjects of the study were 176 students, selected using a purposive random sampling method. The research instrument consisted of two scales, namely the scale of fear of missing out (10 items with α = 0.909) and the scale of Instagram addiction (20 items with α = 0.963). The analysis technique used in the study was the product moment correlation test from Karl Pearson, which showed a positive and significant relationship between the two variables (r = 0.840 with p = 0.00). The effective contribution from the variable of fear of missing out was 70.6%, indicating that the role of fear of missing out in Instagram addiction was quite significant. It can therefore be concluded that the higher the fear of missing out experienced by Generation Z, the higher the tendency for Generation Z to experience Instagram addiction.
