Islam is a religion that makes knowledge the foundation that every adherent must have in carrying out worship. In fact, seeking Sharia knowledge is obligatory in the Islamic religion, this is as stated by the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam that seeking Sharia knowledge is obligatory for all Muslims. As for the research method in this writing, the author uses a library research method, namely by conducting a review of a number of books, literature and documentation, Islamic encyclopedias and other references in order to find theoretical bases that can support the data. -data in this discussion. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis, namely an effort to collect, compile, interpret existing data and then analyze the data. Harun ar-Rasyid's attention to science can also be seen in the appointment of teachers for his sons. Islamic education during the time of Harun Ar Rasyid's caliphate was very developed and advanced, after taufik from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, this was because Harun Ar Rasyid himself was a pious person and really loved knowledge so he knew very well how to appreciate religious knowledge which is legacy of the prophets. In his era, world sciences began to enter Islamic schools so that civilization at that time became more advanced due to science.
