PENERAPAN METODE PENEMUAN TERBIMBING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA PADA MATERI LUAS PERMUKAAN DAN VOLUME KUBUS DAN BALOK DI KELAS VIIIA SMP NEGERI 2 SIGI

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan metode penemuan terbimbing untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi luas permukaan dan volume kubus dan balok di kelas VIIIA SMP Negeri 2 Sigi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Rancangan penelitian ini mengacu pada desain penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yakni (1) perencanaan, (2) pelaksanaan tindakan, (3) observasi dan (4) refleksi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode penemuan terbimbing dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi luas permukaan dan volume kubus dan balok di kelas VIIIA SMP Negeri 2 Sigi melalui langkah-langkah sebagai berikut: (1) perumusan masalah, guru memberikan data-data berupa tayangan dan merumuskan masalah sesuai materi yang dipelajari kepada siswa; (2) pemrosesan data dan penyusunan konjektur, siswa mengamati, menalar dan mencoba mengerjakan LKPD secara berkelompok serta menyusun konjektur dari LKPD yang dikerjakan; (3) pemeriksaan konjektur, guru memeriksa hasil konjektur siswa dan memberikan kesempatan terhadap siswa untuk menyusun kembali konjektur yang benar; (4) verbalisasi konjektur, siswa mempresentasikan hasil kerja kelompoknya di depan kelas; dan (5) umpan balik, guru memberikan soal latihan kepada siswa. Kata Kunci: Metode Penemuan Terbimbing; Hasil Belajar; Luas Permukaan dan Volume Kubus dan Balok Abstract: The purpose of the research is to describe the application of guided describe the application of guided discovery methods to improve the result of student learning on surface area material adn volume and cube and beam in gread VIIIA SMP Negeri 2 Sigi. This type of research is classroom action research (CAR). This plan of research is refers to design of classroom action research (CAR) Kemmis and Mc. Taggart are (1) planning, (2) implamantation of the action, (3) observation and (4) reflection. This research done in two cycle. The result of research show that application of guided discover method can improve student learning result in material surface area and volume and cube and beam at grade VIIIA SMP Negeri 2 Sigi through the following steps: (1) formulation of the problem, teacher provide data in the form of impressions and formulate the problem corresponding the material being studied to student; (2) data processing and preparation of conjecture, student observed, reasoning and try to do LKPD in group and compile the conjecture from LKPD being worked on; (3) inspection of the conjecture, teacher inspecting the result of student’s conjecture and provide the chance to student to recompile the correct conjecture; (4) verbalization the conjecture, student presenting the result of group work in front of the class; and (5) feedback, teacher provide exercise for student.
