<![CDATA[Students' concept understanding needs to be profiled so that teachers can know the picture of students' understanding of mathematics concepts. This study aims to obtain a description or description of the concept understanding of students of class VIIIA SMP Negeri 7 Palu in solving straight line equations in terms of mathematical ability. This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through written assignments and interviews. The results of this study showed the concept understanding profile of students with high mathematics ability in restating the concept of straight line equation which is a linear equation that contains two variables, identifying examples that contain two variables and not examples that do not contain two variables, classifying objects according to certain properties in accordance with the concept.;The concept understanding of medium ability students in restating the concept of a straight line equation is a linear equation that contains two variables, identifying examples that contain two variables and not examples that do not contain two variables, classifying objects according to certain properties in accordance with the concept; The concept understanding profile of students with low mathematics ability in restating the concept of straight line equation does not restate according to the concept, namely equations containing variables, identifying examples and non-examples, classifying objects according to certain properties according to the concept.]]>
