Penggunaan model pembelajaran Predict Observe Explain (POE) relevan dan efektif dengan pembelajaran sains. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh model pembelajaran POE terhadap keterampilan proses sains pada materi cahaya dan sifat-sifatnya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode eksperimen dengan desain penelitian yaitu pretest-posttest control group design. Pelaksanaan penelitian ini dilakukan pada kelas V SDN di Kota Surakarta. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah cluster random sampling subjek penelitian sebanyak 91 orang peserta didik. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes berbentuk soal pilihan ganda sebanyak 10 soal berdasarkan indikator keterampilan proses sains. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji hipotesis dan uji N-gain. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan, diperoleh hasil melalui uji Mann-Whitney bahwa nilai Asymp. Sig. (2- tailed) sebesar 0.000 lebih kecil dari nilai probabilitas 0.05. Oleh karena itu, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa “Ha diterima”, dan didukung dengan analisis N-gain yang diperoleh sebesar 0,51 dengan kategori sedang. Hal demikian dapat dikatakan bahwa ada perbedaan atau pengaruh keterampilan proses sains yang diajarkan melalui model pembelajaran Predict Observe Explain lebih baik dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran konvensional. The effect of the Predict Observe Explain learning model on science process skills in elementary school Abstract: The use of the Predict Observe Explain (POE) learning model is relevant and effective for science learning. This study aims to determine the effect of the POE learning model on science process skills on the material of light and its properties. The research method used is the experimental method with the research design, namely, the pretest-posttest control group design. The implementation of this research was carried out in grade V SDN in Surakarta City. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling of research subjects, with as many as 91 students. The data collection technique was carried out with a test in the form of multiple-choice questions as many as 10 questions, based on indicators of science process skills. The data analysis technique used was hypothesis testing and the N-gain test. Based on the research conducted, the results obtained through the Mann-Whitney test show that the value of Asymp. Sig. (2-2-tailed) The value of 0.000 is smaller than the probability value of 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that ‘Ha is accepted’, and supported by the N-gain analysis obtained of 0.51 in the medium category. Thus, it can be said that there is a difference or influence of science process skills taught through the Predict Observe Explain learning model, better than the conventional learning model.
