Abstract

Abstract: The application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in learning assessment has attracted the attention of many educational experts, researchers and practitioners. This study discusses the opportunities and challenges of using AI in learning assessment. Traditional assessment has weaknesses in terms of misjudgment, inability to measure individual abilities that are not measured in certain forms of assessment, significant cost and time, slow feedback, and inability to be adjusted individually. Several studies have shown that the use of AI in assessments can improve the accuracy, validity and reliability of assessments, reduce human rater bias, enable adaptive assessments, increase time and cost efficiency, provide faster and more timely feedback, and assist in identifying individual needs and improve the quality of learning. However, the use of AI technology can only be a tool, and the final decision must still be made by humans. Therefore, the use of AI in assessment requires special attention in terms of ethics and the development of human capabilities to understand and use AI technology wisely. Keywords: Artificial Intelligence, Assessment Abstrak: Penerapan Artificial Intelligence (AI) dalam penilaian pembelajaran telah menarik perhatian banyak ahli pendidikan, peneliti, dan praktisi. Kata  Kunci: Kecerdasan Buatan, Asesmen

Abstract

Education constitutes a fundamental right for all individuals, irrespective of gender. Despite this, gender-based educational disparities persist globally. This study conducts a comparative analysis of inclusive education programs for women in Indonesia and Malaysia, aiming to elucidate gender challenges in educational access and participation. Employing a qualitative methodology and comparative analysis, this research scrutinizes inclusive policies and initiatives within these nations, delineating their distinctions and commonalities. Data were collected through document reviews, observations, and interviews and subsequently subjected to comparative descriptive analysis. The findings reveal both countries' dedication to enhancing female educational participation. Nonetheless, obstacles such as restricted rural educational access, prevalent gender stereotypes in certain academic disciplines, discrepancies in STEM proficiency, and economic constraints continue to impede progress. To surmount these gender challenges in education, it is imperative to eradicate gender stereotypes, fortify gender-specific policies, broaden educational access, and provide tailored support for women with unique needs. Through collaborative efforts across multiple stakeholders, this study advocates for the establishment of an inclusive, equitable, and gender-fair educational milieu.

Abstract

Self-reflection in elementary learning is often unstructured and lacks standardized tools aligned with deep learning principles. This study developed a self-reflection instrument based on the 4F model (fact, feeling, finding, future) using the 4D development framework (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Data were collected through field studies, interviews, and observations. Instrument construction included content validation (Aiken’s V), construct validation (CFA), and reliability testing (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.717). Findings showed most of the 227 students demonstrated “good” or “fair” self-reflection abilities. The instrument is valid, reliable, and supports teachers in evaluating students’ reflective thinking. The novelty lies in integrating the 4F model within a deep learning context for elementary education. Broader application and external validation are recommended for future research.

Abstract

Formative assessment is a learning assessment whose target is formative and aims to evaluate the learning process. In reality, there are still many teachers who have not implemented formative assessment optimally in science learning. Formative assessments conducted in the middle, end, or throughout learning aim to determine student progress while providing quick feedback to teachers, for example regarding student understanding of the material. This study aims to find out the things that educators need to prepare and how they carry it out. The research method used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, through distributing questionnaires and interviews. The target respondents were elementary school teachers who teach grade VI students. The data that has been collected is then processed using a Likert scale. The results showed that what needs to be prepared by teachers to conduct formative assessment in science subjects is a clear understanding of concepts, and prepare the three stages of formative assessment carefully. Based on the results of the questionnaire, teachers are still not optimal in the information-gathering and action-taking stages. Ways that can be done to implement formative assessment in improving the quality of learning, can be started from the preparation of the right learning module.
