Indonesia is struggling with a triple burden of malnutrition, including childhood obesity. To deal with this, one thing that's been tried is regulating eating, like fasting. This community service program aims to provide children with knowledge about the health benefits of fasting in relation to obesity. This community service program consists of an educational session for 276 elementary school students (SD), divided into three sessions: the first session for initial knowledge assessment, the second session for health education, and the third session for post-education knowledge assessment. The results of the first and third sessions showed that the students recognized five health benefits of fasting: (1) body detoxification, (2) improved digestive health, (3) maintaining an ideal body weight, (4) enhanced immune system function, and (5) improved brain function. Health education on the benefits of fasting to prevent and address childhood obesity can improve children's knowledge, thereby supporting healthy lifestyle behaviors to reduce the triple burden of malnutrition, particularly obesity. Future community service projects could continuing regular monitoring of students' nutritional status, such as weighing, measuring height, and measuring upper arm circumference.
