This study aims to explore the role of principal leadership in improving teacher performance and see the development of teacher discipline habits in carrying out their duties, especially through exemplary discipline and performance guided by the principal and positive habits built in the daily lives of teachers, and to identify challenges faced in its implementation in school activities. The research method used is a qualitative method. Qualitative methods are a research methodology that aims to collect and summarize research results obtained through observation, interviews and documentation, and analyze interview results with previous research. The results of the study indicate that the role of principal leadership is able to improve teacher performance in schools and has a significant impact on forming good performance and discipline that can bring changes to school progress, such as honesty, discipline, and responsibility. In conclusion, the role of principal leadership has a very significant influence on efforts to improve teacher performance in schools through targeted methods and rules.
