<![CDATA[Scabies is a type of parasitic infectious disease of the skin caused by the mite Sarcoptes scabiei var hominis. Scabies is often found in areas with high population density, low economic status, poor sanitation and hygiene. For now, medication is one of the factors inhibitors in the treatment of scabies. This happened because chemical drugs has several effects such as contraindications, irritation, toxicity, and is not effective to all mite stages. Therefore, alternative treatments are needed that come from natural ingredients by exploring various plants in Indonesia that potential to have an active compounds to eradicate mites. The aims of this study is to summarize some of the result of research on alternative plant based anti-scabies and give the information as a reference for further research. This study uses the literature study method to obtain information from several research journal. Based on the results of a literature search, it was found that 15 plant species were extracted and tested on animals and humans which contain active compounds and have the potential as anti-scabies. These fifteen plants can grow well in the territory of Indonesia, so that people can cultivate them and develop them as natural anti-scabies agents. AbstrakSkabies merupakan salah satu jenis penyakit infeksi parasit pada kulit yang disebabkan oleh tungau Sarcoptes scabiei var hominis. Skabies banyak ditemukan di daerah dengan kepadatan penduduk yang tinggi, status ekonomi rendah, sanitasi dan hygiene yang buruk. Saat ini, pengobatan dengan bahan kimia menjadi salah satu faktor yang menjadi penghambat dalam penanggulangan skabies. Hal tersebut terjadi karena obat kimia memiliki beberapa efek seperti kontraindikasi, iritasi, toksik, dan tidak efektif terhadap semua stadium tungau. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan alternatif pengobatan yang berasal dari bahan alam dengan mengeksplorasi berbagai tumbuhan di Indonesia yang berpotensi memiliki senyawa aktif untuk membasmi tungau. Tujuan studi ini adalah merangkum beberapa hasil penelitian tentang obat alternatif anti skabies berbahan dasar tumbuhan dan memberikan informasi dasar sebagai referensi penelitian lebih lanjut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi literatur untuk memperoleh informasi dari beberapa jurnal penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil penelusuran pustaka diperoleh 15 jenis tumbuhan yang di ekstrak dan di uji ke hewan maupun manusia yang memiliki kandungan senyawa aktif dan berpotensi sebagai anti skabies. Kelima belas tanaman tersebut dapat tumbuh dengan baik dengan di wilayah Indonesia, sehingga masyarakat dapat membudidayakannya dan mengembangkannya sebagai bahan anti-skabies alami. ]]>
