This study is based on the concept of achieving happiness in the world and the hereafter according to Imam Al-Ghazali's view. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the concept of happiness according to Imam Al-Ghazali and the keys to happiness face the identity crisis in Islamic Religious Education teachers. Meanwhile, this study aims to determine the concept of happiness according to Imam Al-Ghazali in facing the identity crisis in the educational staff environment. The results of this study are (1) Self-knowledge (ma‘rifat al-nafs) serves as a crucial foundation for Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers to realize their true essence as humble servants of Allah, enabling them to reframe their profession as a spiritual calling rather than merely an institutional obligation. (2) The purification of the soul (tazkiyat al-nafs), through the control of desire (syahwat), anger (ghadab), intellect (‘aql), and heart (qalb), as taught by Al-Ghazali, has shown a positive impact in maintaining the inner balance of PAI teachers so they do not become overwhelmed by complex professional demands. (3) Al-Ghazali’s concept of happiness can serve as a transformative spiritual approach to overcoming the identity crisis experienced by PAI teachers, as it offers a path to spiritual reinforcement, psychological resilience, and the internalization of religious motivation, thereby fostering inner strength and a genuine spirit of educational dedication.
