PENGEMBANGAN MODUL PEMBELAJARAN PROBLEM BASED LEARNING BERBASIS ETNOMATEMATIKA (MAEN BAWE) UNTUK MENINGKATKAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR DAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA PADA MATERI KPK DAN FPB DI SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract

The low learning motivation and critical thinking skills of students in abstract mathematics materials such as LCM and GCF are the main background of this research. To address this problem, this study focuses on developing an innovative learning module that integrates the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model with local wisdom through the Maen Bawe ethnomathematics game. The main objective is to produce a valid, practical, and effective product for fifth-grade students. This study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data collection was carried out through expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires at SDN 38 Mataram, and a critical thinking ability test. The results showed that the developed module was deemed highly valid by experts (average score >84%) and highly practical based on student responses (score 89.03%). In terms of effectiveness, this module has proven successful in increasing learning motivation and significantly improving students' critical thinking skills, as indicated by a jump in the average score from 31.81 (pre-test) to 96.09 (post-test), with an N-Gain of 94.3% (highly effective category). It is concluded that this ethnomathematics-based PBL module is feasible and effective for use as a learning medium to increase student engagement and cognitive abilities in elementary schools. ABSTRAKRendahnya motivasi belajar dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi matematika abstrak seperti KPK dan FPB menjadi latar belakang utama penelitian ini. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, penelitian ini berfokus pada pengembangan sebuah modul pembelajaran inovatif yang mengintegrasikan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dengan kearifan lokal melalui permainan etnomatematika Maen Bawe. Tujuan utamanya adalah menghasilkan produk yang valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk siswa kelas V. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Riset dan Pengembangan (R&D) dengan model ADDIE yang meliputi tahapan analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui lembar validasi ahli, angket respons siswa di SDN 38 Mataram, serta tes kemampuan berpikir kritis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modul yang dikembangkan dinyatakan sangat valid oleh para ahli (rata-rata skor >84%) dan sangat praktis berdasarkan respons siswa (skor 89,03%). Dari segi efektivitas, modul ini terbukti berhasil meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan secara signifikan meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, yang ditunjukkan oleh lonjakan skor rata-rata dari 31,81 (pre-test) menjadi 96,09 (post-test), dengan N-Gain 94,3% (kategori sangat efektif). Disimpulkan bahwa modul PBL berbasis etnomatematika ini layak dan efektif digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan dan kemampuan kognitif siswa di sekolah dasar.
