Abstract

Penggunaan cadaver sebagai media pembelajaran anatomi dalam pendidikan kesehatan kerap menimbulkan dilema etika dan keagamaan, khususnya di daerah mayoritas Muslim seperti Sumedang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pandangan medis dan Islam terhadap praktik penggunaan cadaver dalam pendidikan kesehatan. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik wawancara semi-terstruktur terhadap tokoh agama dan tenaga medis di Sumedang. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan cadaver diperbolehkan dalam kondisi darurat dengan syarat tertentu, serta dinilai efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman anatomi, menumbuhkan empati, dan membentuk profesionalisme mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan perlunya pedoman etika berbasis religius-lokal agar praktik pendidikan berjalan selaras dengan nilai kemanusiaan, ajaran Islam, serta tuntutan keilmuan di bidang kesehatan. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar pengembangan kurikulum dan kebijakan pendidikan medis yang kontekstual dan sensitif terhadap nilai-nilai lokal masyarakat. The use of cadavers as a medium for learning anatomy in medical education often raises ethical and religious dilemmas, especially in Muslim-majority areas such as Sumedang. This study aims to examine the medical and Islamic views on the practice of using cadavers in medical education. The method used was descriptive qualitative with semi-structured interviews with religious leaders and medical personnel in Sumedang. The results show that the use of cadavers is allowed in emergency conditions with certain conditions, and is considered effective in improving anatomical understanding, fostering empathy, and shaping student professionalism. This study concludes that there is a need for religious-local-based ethical guidelines so that educational practices run in harmony with human values, Islamic teachings, and scientific demands in the health sector. The findings are expected to be the basis for curriculum and policy development for medical education that is contextual and sensitive to local values.
