<![CDATA[This study aims to empirically examine the relationship between the tourism sector and community welfare through the pathway of economic growth in Gorontalo Province. Specifically, it evaluates: (i) the effect of tourist arrivals on regional economic growth, and (ii) the impact of economic growth on community welfare, as measured by the Human Development Index (HDI). The research utilizes secondary data from five districts/cities in Gorontalo covering the period from 2014 to 2023, sourced from official publications of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). A quantitative approach is applied using a simultaneous equation regression model, estimated through the Indirect Least Square (ILS) method with a Fixed Effect Model (FEM) approach. The findings indicate that the number of tourist visits has a significant and positive effect on regional economic growth, suggesting that increased tourism activity contributes to economic expansion. Furthermore, economic growth is also found to have a significant positive impact on HDI, indicating that improvements in economic performance are directly associated with better living standards and quality of life for the population in the observed regions. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara empiris hubungan antara sektor pariwisata dan kesejahteraan masyarakat melalui jalur pertumbuhan ekonomi di Provinsi Gorontalo. Fokus utama penelitian adalah mengevaluasi dua hal: (i) pengaruh jumlah kunjungan wisatawan terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi, serta (ii) dampak pertumbuhan ekonomi terhadap peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat yang diukur melalui Indeks Pembangunan Manusia (IPM). Data yang digunakan bersifat sekunder dan mencakup lima kabupaten/kota selama periode 2014–2023, yang diperoleh dari publikasi resmi Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode analisis model regresi persamaan simultan yang diestimasi menggunakan teknik Indirect Least Square (ILS) dengan pendekatan Fixed Effect Model (FEM). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa jumlah wisatawan berpengaruh signifikan dan positif terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi daerah. Dengan kata lain, peningkatan kunjungan wisatawan mendorong aktivitas ekonomi yang lebih luas. Selanjutnya, pertumbuhan ekonomi juga ditemukan berpengaruh positif secara signifikan terhadap IPM, yang mencerminkan adanya kontribusi ekonomi terhadap peningkatan taraf hidup masyarakat di wilayah studi.]]>
