Abstract

This study aims to analyze the change of economic structure; development imbalances resulting from the proportional imbalance in GDRP per capita, Human Development Index and Infrastructure Expenditure Ratio; form of relationship development and inequality of economic growth and to provide policy recommendations. The analysis is using Williamson Index, Gini Ratio, Shift-Share, Klassen Typhology and Regression of Unbalanced Panel. The results showed that although growth was lower than the non-agriculture but agriculture is still dominant in the economic structure. Potentially sector and the greatest economic growth occurs in regions of secondary and tertiary sector that have occurred indicate a shift in economic structure in the Province of Gorontalo during the period 2001-2008. Pohuwato Regency and Gorontalo Municipality has a competitive economic, including in Quadrant I on matrix typology Klassen (high growth and high income), while Boalemo, Gorontalo Regency and Bone Bolango in the Quadrant III (low growth and low income). Simultaneously and partial, the difference of all independent variable are significant as the main source of inequality.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan kondisi aktual wirausaha mahasiswa di Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Negeri Gorontalo (FEB-UNG), mengidentifikasi faktor penentu minat wirausaha mahasiswa dan merumuskan metode pendekatan untuk meningkatkan minat wirausaha mahasiswa. Menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, data primer diperoleh dari kuesioner 50 responden terpilih sedangkan data sekunder dari sub bagian kemahasiswaan FEB-UNG. Penelitian menyimpulkan pertama, secara umum minat berwirausaha relatif rendah dibuktikan dengan kurangnya individu dan kelompok mahasiswa FEB menjadi pelaku wirausaha, rendahnya keterlibatan mahasiswa dalam pelatihan dan pembekalan wirausaha didalam maupun luar lingkungan kampus serta kurangnya jumlah proposal bisnis yang ikut berkompetisi di Program Mahasiswa Wirausaha (PMW) Dikti. Kedua, kecenderungan rendahnya minat wirausaha sangat dipengaruhi oleh rendahnya dukungan orang tua dan keluarga yang mayoritas pegawai dan karyawan swasta, persepsi masyarakat dan iklim pembelajaran kewirausahaan serta dukungan akademik. Ketiga, solusi yang ditawarkan adalah memperbanyak frekuensi praktek kewirausahaan, melaksanakan pembelajaran kontekstual secara periodik, menyediakan dan melengkapi fasilitas kewirausahaan di kampus, mengadakan program inkubator bisnis dan lomba penulisan business plan, peningkatan alokasi anggaran wirausaha mahasiswa serta membangun jaringan wirausaha terpadu dengan stakeholder lokal.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menjelaskan kegiatan wirausaha berbasis teknologi (technopreneurship) dan non-technopreneurship, upaya meningkatkan minat mahasiswa dan lulusan perguruan tinggi menjadi pelaku technopreneurship serta menyusun dokumen arah pengembangan technopreneurship di Provinsi Gorontalo. Penelitian studi kasus ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, kuisioner dan dokumentasi, berlokasi di 6 kabupaten/kota di Provinsi Gorontalo. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan; Rendahnya daya saing produk UMKM Provinsi Gorontalo disebabkan masih rendahnya penguasaan teknologi dikalangan pelaku usaha. Bila ada inovasi teknologi sifatnya temporer, hanya untuk keperluan pameran/eksebisi ditingkat regional dan nasional, bukan untuk peningkatan mutu produk, diversifikasi dan efisiensi dalam jangka pendek maupun peningkatan produksi secara berkelanjutan, peningkatan omzet, laba serta perluasan usaha dalam jangka panjang. Pengembangan technopreneurship kemitraan UNG - Gorontalo Utara (padi organik) merupakan best practice untuk memperluas dan memperkuat technopreneur unggul di daerah. Minat mahasiswa berwirausaha dapat ditingkatkan melalui pembelajaran berbasis riset dan berpusat pada mahasiswa.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan memberi penguatan bagi kelompok IKM binaan untuk segera dapat meningkatkan hasil  produksi stik jagung ikan untuk memenuhi permintaan pasar yang begitu banyak, sekaligus dalam rangka perluasan pangsa pasar khusus produk olahan stik jagung ikan Gorontalo, serta bersama tim dan IKM binaan segera mewujudkan dalam menyusun dan menerbitkan buku metode pengelolaan (manajemen) usahanya khusus stik jagung ikan. Kelompok masyarakat sasaran adalah kedua IKM yang menjadi binaan pada IbM tahun 2014 yakni IKM “Putri” dan IKM “Cahaya Bintang Cakrawala” sebagai masyarakat produktif secara ekonomi. Kelompok pengusaha kecil mandiri secara ekonomi (IKM) yang dimaksud adalah yang memberdayakan komoditas unggulan daerah yakni jagung dan ikan ini diharapkan menjadi pemicu dan pendorong bagi tumbuhnya inovasi dan wirausaha lainnya dikalangan masyarakat Gorontalo. Adapun luaran yang tercapai pada kegiatan kali ini adalah terrealisasikannya kegiatan peningkatan produksi olahan makanan stik jagung ikan yang dipasarkan di wilayah Gorontalo dan daerah lain di luar Provinsi Gorontalo serta tersusunnya dan dipublisnya buku metode manajemen usaha dalam bentuk buku kecil sebagai panduan usaha dalam rangka pengembangan bisnis sekaligus dapat digunakan oleh kelompok usaha produk olahan makanan sejenis di Gorontalo.

Abstract

Tourism shows a significant contribution to foreign exchange and regional income in Indonesia. Defined as a priority and leading sector in the RPJMD, tourism development in the Regencies and the Province of Gorontalo must measure the results, benefits and impacts for all stakeholders. Contribution to regional income (PAD) and the composition of internal and external factors in each of the leading destinations is needed for the purpose of determining the strategy and policy of sustainable tourism development. The study concluded that tourism sector was relatively small in its contribution to each PAD total by Regencies in Gorontalo Province. The low of PADsp is relevant to the low occupancy rate (TPK) of the hotel and the length of stay (LoS). The lack of retribution income from recreation and sports spot is relevant to the lack of activities to support the attractiveness such as art and cultural attractions and local products that can be souvenirs for tourists. Infrastructure facilities at leading tourism objects are relatively incomplete or do not meet tourism standards. The low of PAD, TPK & LoS can also explain that the increase in tourists to Gorontalo is only a transit to the other tourist objects outside of Gorontalo Province.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) determine how the application of IPM in Gorontalo regency. (2) Determine and analyze the strategy of agricultural development through the application of integrated pest management (IPM) in increasing farm production and welfare in Gorontalo regency. Qualitative research methods were used. Analysis of the data used is a SWOT analysis . SWOT analysis is a form of analysis to maximize strengths and weaknesses and the opportunities and threats meminalisir. The results showed that : (1) Implementation of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in Rice Gorontalo regency is going well although not maximize, efforts are made to make the technology adoption of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) by farmers in the district of Gorontalo, among others, by socialization IPM integrated through school activities by agricultural extension , training harness and use a variety of agricultural technology (2) In the improvement of agricultural development through the implementation of IPM technology the identified factors are classified into internal and external strengths, weaknesses opportunities and threats to seek and obtain a key success factor the most appropriate strategy in the implementation of rice IPM in Gorontalo regency is SO strategy (incorporating Strengths and Opportunities) that increase the use of quality seeds using cultivation techniques based on the principles of IPM technology is also supported by state funds center is expected to improve its performance in terms of development of agricultural production.

Abstract

This research aims to explain the students understanding and mastery of economics and development of technopreneurship-based economics learning module. Qualitative and descriptive approaches were applied for the research which was begun by some observations and Economics and Entrepreneurship learning identification in 15 study programs of diploma and bachelor degree at State University of Gorontalo or UNG. The data was gathered in the forms of documentation, literature studies, and questionnaires purposively distributed to 100 students. The results showed that: 1) Students realized the importance of learning, understanding, and analyzing the development of Economics not only for academic purpose yet for creating new jobs in society; 2) Economics learning results in UNG at academic year 2014/2015 showed satisfying results based on compared achievement percentage of score A, B, and C at 36%, 50%, and 14% respectively; and 3) In order to have more interesting and well-targetted learning, the contextual and applicable Economics learning module needed to be redesigned. That module would facilitate students in understanding the social reality, such as the increment of intellectual unemployment and the importance of creating more innovative entrepreneurship activities. Abstract

This research aims to describe the actual condition of the entrepreneurial student at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Gorontalo State University (FEB-UNG), identifying the determinant factor of student entrepreneurial intention and to formulate alternative ways to improve the entrepreneurial intention. Use qualitative descriptive method, primary data obtained by 50 selected respondent, and secondary data from student division of FEB-UNG office. Research concludes, first, it is generally, student entrepreneurial intention still relatively low, evidenced by the lack of FEB students become entrepreneur, low involvement in training/workshop and seminar about entrepreneurship inside or outside of campus as well as the lack of number of business plan that competed in Program of Student Creativity (PKM). Second, relatively low of entreprenurial intention is highly determined by the lack supporting of parents and family who works as civil servant or private employees, public perception and also entrepreneurial learning atmosphere and facilities that have to be acces inside of campus. Third, the solutions offered is multiplied the frequence of entrepreneurial practices, carried out of learning contextual periodically, provide the entrepreneurial facilities, business incubator program, business plan writing contest, budget allocation and entrepreneurial network integrated with local stakeholder.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the technology based entrepreneurial activity and non-technopreneurship, to elaborate the efforts to improve students’ and graduates’ interest to be the doers of technopreneurship, and to compile a document which will be the direction of development to lead technopreneurship in Gorontalo Province. This study used qualitative approach, the data collected by observation, interview, questionnaire and documentation, that located in 6 regencies/city in the Province of Gorontalo. This study concludes that, Low competitiveness of the product by small and medium business in Gorontallo Province is caused by limited technology mastery among entrepreneurs. If there are any technological innovations, it’s temporally only for exhibition purpose in regional and national scale, not to enhance the quality of products, diversification and efficiency in short-term, as well as sustainable increased of production, their income increased, and or business extension profit in the long-term. Technopreneurship development that partnership by State University of Gorontalo (UNG) and The Regency of North Gorontalo is the best practice to extend and strengthen technopreneurs in the region. Students interest in entrepreneurship can be increased by research based learning and student centered learning.

Abstract

This study aims to 1). analyze and find out what factors affect the internal and external environment in order to maintain the competitive advantage of SMI, Karawo handicraft industry ?; 2). find out and analyze what efforts were made by both business people (SMI) and local governments in order to maintain and support competitive advantage from SMI, Karawo handicraft industry in Gorontalo City; 3). analyze the competitive advantage strategy that is carried out by every SMI in Gorontalo city in winning the competition. The method used in this study is a survey method by conducting data collection techniques through interviews, observation and through questionnaires. The assessment is carried out by identifying the current internal and external environment so as to achieve the conditions expected in the future related to the competitive advantage strategy of the Karawo handicraft industry in Gorontalo City. To analyze these factors in order to formulate a competitive advantage strategy for SMI, especially the Karawo handicraft industry, it is carried out with a SWOT Analysis approach. The results show that the strategy to achieve the competitive advantage of the furniture industry in Gorontalo in the future can be done with Turnaround strategy, namely the way the internal approach can be done is by shortening the production chain that has been producing Karawo embroidery requires different skills and craftsmen. through this strategy or stage, it can be done by one of the craftsmen. The second stage is externally through a process of training and mentoring by universities, local governments and entrepreneurs to conduct training for mothers, the younger generation to train the process of slicing and embroidering in other words creating new craftsmen and fostering the interest of young people to like and use products The Karawo.
