<![CDATA[Abstract In Banjar society, inheritance is governed by three legal systems: Islamic law, customary law, and state law. These systems have been influenced by Islamic principles, but their dynamics and relationship have changed over time. In the premodern era, there was accommodation, followed by confrontation during the colonial period, legal unification in the independence era, and advancement of Islamic law in the post-modern era. This research aims to examine how the legal system operates in society, focusing on restorative justice and the principles of justice in property challenges. Specifically, the study explores the value of distributive justice in Banjar custom. Despite the theoretical expectation that the practice of inheritance division should align with the advancement of Islamic law, the reality is that Banjar society still prefers the division based on adat (customary law) and Islam, rather than solely Islamic law. Sistem-sistem ini telah dipengaruhi oleh prinsip-prinsip Islam, tetapi dinamika dan hubungan mereka telah berubah dari waktu ke waktu. Pada era pramodern, terjadi akomodasi, diikuti dengan konfrontasi selama masa kolonial, penyatuan hukum pada era kemerdekaan, dan kemajuan hukum Islam pada era pasca-modern. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana sistem hukum beroperasi di masyarakat, dengan fokus pada keadilan restoratif dan prinsip-prinsip keadilan dalam sengketa properti. Secara khusus, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi nilai keadilan distributif dalam adat Banjar. Terlepas dari harapan teoritis bahwa praktik pembagian warisan seharusnya sejalan dengan kemajuan hukum Islam, kenyataannya masyarakat Banjar masih lebih memilih pembagian berdasarkan adat (hukum adat) dan Islam, daripada semata-mata hukum Islam.
