Abstract

Abstract: Biopore infiltration holes are a simple and environmentally friendly technology that provides solutions to waterlogging and organic waste problems in Medang Village, Medang Deras District, Batu Bara Regency. This program was implemented by the Community Service Program (KKN) students of the State Islamic University of North Sumatra through several stages, including planning, socialization, implementation, and evaluation. The infiltration holes were created using a manual drill with a depth of approximately 100 cm, equipped with perforated PVC pipes, and filled with organic waste such as dry leaves and kitchen scraps. The results indicate that biopore holes improve rainwater absorption, reduce the risk of flooding, and produce natural compost that enriches the soil. Community participation plays a crucial role in sustaining this initiative. Therefore, the application of biopores can serve as a strategic effort for community-based environmental management. Keyword: Biopore Infiltration Hole, Water Management, Organic Waste, Medang Village, KKN UINSU Abstrak: Lubang resapan biopori merupakan teknologi sederhana yang ramah lingkungan dan dapat menjadi solusi dalam mengatasi permasalahan genangan air serta penumpukan sampah organik di Desa Medang, Kecamatan Medang Deras, Kabupaten Batu Bara. Program ini dilaksanakan oleh mahasiswa KKN Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara melalui beberapa tahapan, yaitu perencanaan, sosialisasi, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Pembuatan lubang resapan dilakukan menggunakan bor manual dengan kedalaman ±100 cm, dilengkapi pipa paralon berlubang, dan diisi dengan sampah organik seperti daun kering dan sisa dapur. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa lubang biopori mampu meningkatkan daya serap air hujan, mengurangi risiko banjir, serta menghasilkan kompos alami yang menyuburkan tanah. Partisipasi masyarakat dalam kegiatan ini sangat penting untuk menjaga keberlanjutan program. Dengan demikian, penerapan biopori dapat menjadi upaya strategis dalam pengelolaan lingkungan berbasis masyarakat. Kata kunci: Lubang Resapan Biopori, Pengelolaan Air, Sampah Organik, Desa Medang, KKN UINSU
