ABSTRACT The development of digital technology has encouraged Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) to adapt their learning methods to remain relevant, including in the teaching of the Kitab Kuning, which has traditionally relied on conventional instructional approaches. This study focuses on the implementation of a deep learning curriculum in the Kitab Kuning learning process at Pondok Pesantren Syarifatul Ulum Katerban and examines its contribution to improving students’ learning quality. A qualitative case study design was employed, involving in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and curriculum document analysis to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the pedagogical practices. The findings reveal that the integration of mindful learning, meaningful learning, and joyful learning principles enhances students’ engagement and fosters more reflective and meaningful learning experiences. The use of artificial intelligence technologies such as adaptive learning systems and the digitalisation of the Kitab Kuning also enriches the learning process, although challenges remain in terms of infrastructure readiness and teachers’ digital literacy. Overall, the implementation of the deep learning curriculum has strengthened students’ conceptual understanding, critical thinking skills, character development, and digital literacy, thereby offering new directions for the advancement of pesantren-based education in the digital era. ABSTRAK Perkembangan teknologi digital mendorong pesantren untuk menyesuaikan metode pembelajaran agar tetap relevan, termasuk dalam pengajaran Kitab Kuning yang selama ini menggunakan pendekatan tradisional. Penelitian ini berfokus pada implementasi kurikulum deep learning dalam pembelajaran Kitab Kuning di Pondok Pesantren Syarifatul Ulum Katerban serta kontribusinya terhadap peningkatan kualitas belajar santri. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan analisis dokumen kurikulum untuk memperoleh pemahaman menyeluruh mengenai praktik pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi prinsip mindful learning, meaningful learning, dan joyful learning mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan santri serta mendorong terbentuknya pengalaman belajar yang lebih reflektif dan bermakna. Pemanfaatan teknologi kecerdasan buatan seperti sistem pembelajaran adaptif dan digitalisasi Kitab Kuning juga memberikan nilai tambah dalam proses belajar, meskipun masih menghadapi kendala pada aspek infrastruktur dan literasi digital guru. Secara keseluruhan, implementasi kurikulum deep learning terbukti memperkuat pemahaman konseptual, keterampilan berpikir kritis, serta pengembangan karakter dan literasi digital santri, sehingga menawarkan arah baru bagi pengembangan pembelajaran pesantren di era digital.
