<![CDATA[Indonesia has a large cultural heritage. There are hundreds of ethnics with their own cultural diversities. Those cultural diversities are important to be understood by BIPA learners. The problem lies in the fact that the BIPA teaching program is intended not only to make a good speaker of the Indonesian language but also to make them understand the socio-cultural context of Indonesian people. They are encouraged to absorb the all information about Indonesian cultural diversities through the BIPA materials. Their writers and teachers are creative in developing BIPA teaching materials with interesting topics, influenced by Indonesian cultural diversities. The lack of understanding about these cultural diversities for BIPA learners could lead to misinformation about Indonesia. Abstrak Indonesia memiliki warisan budaya yang luas. Ada ratusan etnik dengan perbedaan budaya masing-masing. Perbedaan-perbedaan budaya tersebut penting dipahami oleh pelajar BIPA. Masalahnya terletak pada kenyataan bahwa program pengajaran BIPA tidak hanya dimaksudkan untuk menjadikan pelajar sebagai penutur bahasa Indonesia yang baik tetapi juga untuk membuat mereka memahami konteks sosio-kultural orangorang Indonesia. Mereka didorong untuk menyerap semua informasi tentang perbedaan budaya melalui materi-materi BIPA. Penulis dan guru kreatif dalam mengembangkan materi pengajaran dengan topik menarik yang dipengaruhi oleh perbedaan budaya Indonesia. Kurangnya pemahaman tentang perbedaan-perbedaan budaya ini bagi pelajar BIPA dapat menuntun kesalahan informasi tentang Indonesia. ]]>
