Abstrak Manajemen sekolah Islam di pesantren modern menghadapi tantangan globalisasi, profesionalisme pendidikan, serta kebutuhan integrasi nilai-nilai Islam dengan praktik manajerial kontemporer. Kepemimpinan sekolah Islam tidak hanya dituntut cakap secara administratif, tetapi juga mampu mengambil keputusan yang rasional, etis, dan berlandaskan nilai spiritual. Namun, dalam praktiknya masih dijumpai persoalan kepemimpinan yang bersifat personalistik, kurang transparan, dan minim integrasi antara akal dan wahyu. Pemikiran Al-Kindi sebagai filsuf Muslim klasik menawarkan landasan filosofis yang menekankan penggunaan akal sebagai anugerah Tuhan yang selaras dengan wahyu dalam pengambilan keputusan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemikiran Al-Kindi tentang kepemimpinan dan pengambilan keputusan serta relevansinya dalam manajemen sekolah Islam di Pondok Pesantren Al-Ihsan Boarding School Riau. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan di pesantren tersebut dijalankan secara partisipatif, berlandaskan musyawarah, dan berorientasi pada kemaslahatan lembaga. Proses pengambilan keputusan mengintegrasikan pertimbangan rasional, nilai-nilai keislaman, dan tanggung jawab etis, yang menunjukkan kesesuaian signifikan dengan pemikiran Al-Kindi. Abstract Islamic school management in modern pesantren faces challenges related to globalization, educational professionalism, and the need to integrate Islamic values with contemporary managerial practices. Leadership in Islamic schools is not only required to be administratively competent but also capable of making rational, ethical, and spiritually grounded decisions. However, in practice, leadership problems such as personalistic decision-making, lack of transparency, and limited integration between reason and revelation are still frequently encountered. Al-Kindi’s thought as a classical Muslim philosopher offers a philosophical foundation that emphasizes the use of reason as a divine gift that is harmonious with revelation in the decision-making process. This study aims to analyze Al-Kindi’s ideas on leadership and decision-making and examine their relevance to Islamic school management at Al-Ihsan Boarding School Riau. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that leadership at the pesantren is implemented in a participatory manner, based on deliberation (shūrā), and oriented toward institutional welfare. The decision-making process integrates rational considerations, Islamic values, and ethical responsibility, demonstrating a significant alignment with Al-Kindi’s thought.
