Abstract

Unity-based interactive learning media for introducing Microsoft Excel in junior high schools   Abstract: This study aims to develop Unity-based interactive learning media to support seventh-grade students in understanding the fundamentals of Microsoft Excel more effectively. The Research and Development method was employed using the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The participants were 22 students from SMP Negeri 6 Malang selected purposively. Data were collected through observations, pretest–posttest assessments, and student response questionnaires. Quantitative descriptive analysis was used to determine learning improvement and evaluate student perceptions. The results show a substantial increase in students’ understanding, with average scores rising from 71.3 on the pretest to 92.9 on the posttest. Student responses indicated high approval across five aspects: visual design (89.4%), navigation (85.2%), content quality (87.1%), learning effectiveness (81.8%), and engagement and motivation (90.2%). The study concludes that Unity-based interactive media offers an innovative and engaging alternative for teaching Microsoft Excel in secondary informatics education.
