<![CDATA[Abstract. Early childhood literacy can include several important things in reading, writing and understanding reading texts, this is the basis that affects social, emotional and cognitive development, and critical thinking, formulating ideas and communicating well and here the role of parents is very much needed, Literacy has an important meaning, as in line with the mandate of education in Indonesia. In the Edofa Gardenia housing complex, many children fill their free time by playing around and doing useless activities because their parents are busy working so that children lack supervision and many children who have entered elementary school are not yet able to understand literacy. Seeing the problems that arise, it is hoped that this community service program can have a positive impact that can foster children's enthusiasm for reading and improve their literacy skills. The purpose of this community service is to improve the literacy skills of every child in the Edofa Gardenia housing complex by using the Storytelling method to develop children's interest in reading. The storytelling method can also improve good communication, comprehensive reading comprehension and children's writing skills. The storytelling method brings changes in verbal skills, creativity and critical thinking in contributing ideas and imagination in the school environment.]]>
