Abstract

Education has an important role in improving the quality of human life, one of which is through a learning process that is able to foster students' interest in learning. High learning interest encourages students to be more active, focused, and diligent in participating in teaching and learning activities. This study aims to (1) determine the level of interest in learning Islamic Religious Education (PAI) of class X students of SMAN 3 Bogor taught using the Team Games Tournament (TGT) method and (2) analyze the difference in interest in learning PAI between students taught using the TGT method and the conventional method. This research used quantitative approach with quasi experiment method. The research sample consisted of students of class X-7 and X-6 as many as 65 students. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. The results showed that the application of TGT method had a positive effect on interest in learning PAI, with an average value of 54.5%. This finding indicates that the TGT method is more effective in increasing interest in learning PAI than conventional learning methods. Abstrak Pendidikan memiliki peran penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas hidup manusia, salah satunya melalui proses pembelajaran yang mampu menumbuhkan minat belajar peserta didik. Minat belajar yang tinggi mendorong siswa untuk lebih aktif, fokus, dan tekun dalam mengikuti kegiatan belajar mengajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui tingkat minat belajar Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) siswa kelas X SMAN 3 Bogor yang diajar menggunakan metode Team Games Tournament (TGT) dan (2) menganalisis perbedaan minat belajar PAI antara siswa yang diajar menggunakan metode TGT dan metode konvensional. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode quasi experiment. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas siswa kelas X-7 dan X-6 sebanyak 65 peserta didik. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode TGT memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap minat belajar PAI, dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 54,5%. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa metode TGT lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan minat belajar PAI dibandingkan metode pembelajaran konvensional.
