Pemahaman ilmu tajwid dan implikasinya terhadap kemampuan membaca Al-Qur’an siswa SMP

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of students' understanding of tajwid, their ability to read the Qur'an, and the influence of tajwid understanding on Qur'anic reading skills among eighth-grade students at SMP Ibnu Aqil Bogor in the 2024/2025 academic year. The research employed a quantitative approach with an associative method. A total of 100 students were selected as samples using proportional random sampling. Instruments used included a questionnaire to assess tajwid understanding and a practical test to evaluate Qur'anic reading ability. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression and a t-test. The results indicated that both tajwid understanding and Qur'anic reading skills were at a good level. There is a positive and significant influence between tajwid understanding and the ability to read the Qur'an, as shown by the t-value (2.897) > t-table (1.661) and a significance value of 0.004 < 0.05. Thus, the better the understanding of tajwid, the higher the quality of Qur'anic reading ability among students. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat pemahaman ilmu tajwid, kemampuan membaca Al-Qur’an, serta pengaruh pemahaman ilmu tajwid terhadap kemampuan membaca Al-Qur’an siswa kelas VIII SMP Ibnu Aqil Bogor Tahun Ajaran 2024/2025. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode asosiatif. Sampel berjumlah 100 siswa yang dipilih melalui teknik proportional random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi angket untuk variabel pemahaman ilmu tajwid dan tes praktik untuk kemampuan membaca Al-Qur’an. Analisis data menggunakan regresi linier sederhana dan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa baik pemahaman tajwid maupun kemampuan membaca Al-Qur’an siswa berada pada kategori baik. Terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan antara pemahaman ilmu tajwid terhadap kemampuan membaca Al-Qur’an, dibuktikan dengan nilai t hitung (2,897) > t tabel (1,661) dan sig. 0,004 < 0,05. Dengan demikian, semakin tinggi pemahaman tajwid, maka semakin baik pula kemampuan membaca Al-Qur’an siswa.
