The development of digital technology has transformed education and social interaction; thus, Islamic education plays a crucial role in building social awareness through moral values, empathy, and solidarity derived from the Qur'an and Sunnah. This study utilised a literature review with the keywords "Islamic Education," "Social Awareness," and "Digital Era," and the inclusion criteria were original articles published in Indonesian or English from 2020 to 2025. The study's findings indicate that Islamic education fosters character and social awareness, addressing challenges in the digital era such as individualism and the dominance of virtual interactions, while simultaneously leveraging technological opportunities, including AI and collaborative learning, with an understanding of digital literacy. Comparisons from several countries confirm that both religion-based and ethics-based education emphasise a balance between digital competence and social character development. In conclusion, Islamic education equips students with digital competence and social awareness, fostering integrity, wisdom, and responsibility. Collaborative integration with parents and the community is recommended.
