Pengaruh Gender Terhadap Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Peserta Didik Kelas X DI SMA Negeri 1 Gandapura

Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul pengaruh gender terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Gandapura. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi perbedaan signifikan antara kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik laki-laki dan perempuan, serta mengevaluasi perubahan kemampuan berpikir kritis sebelum dan sesudah diberikan intervensi pembelajaran. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes berpikir kritis yang terdiri dari pretest dan posttest, yang mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik sebelum dan setelah intervensi pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dan bersifat pra-eksperimental untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis antara peserta didik laki-laki dan perempuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh gender terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi hidrologi dengan siswa perempuan menunjukkan peningkatan hasil belajar yang lebih signifikan (N-Gain 72,15%) dibandingkan siswa laki-laki (N-Gain 43,95%) setelah pembelajaran model Inkuiri, serta kemampuan berpikir kritis yang lebih baik berdasarkan hasil uji statistik. ABSTRACT This study, titled "The Influence of Gender on the Critical Thinking Ability of Grade X Students at SMA Negeri 1 Gandapura," aims to identify significant differences in critical thinking abilities between male and female students and to evaluate changes in critical thinking skills before and after the intervention. The research instruments used were critical thinking tests consisting of pretests and posttests, which measure the students' critical thinking abilities before and after the learning intervention. This study employed a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design to determine the differences in critical thinking abilities between male and female students. The results indicate that gender influences students' critical thinking abilities in hydrology and marine dynamics, with female students showing a more significant improvement (N-Gain 72.15%) compared to male students (N-Gain 43.95%) after applying the Inquiry learning model. Statistical analysis results also demonstrated that female students had better critical thinking skills
